"Children of the Sun" is a song by Billy Thorpe released on his 1979 album of the same name. The world lost 2 great musicians in less than a week, on Feb 28, 2007 Billy Thorpe died from a massive heart attack at the age of 60, 6 days later Brad Delp "lead singer of the group Boston" committed suicide.. both are greatly missed by music lovers around the world. After releasing and touring his album "Children of the Sun," (his first top 40 hit) Thorpe released 3 more studio albums in 80, 81 and 82 with some top ten success on the billboards, but he gave up live performances in 1984 and started an electronics consulting company which did work for The Walt Disney Company, Mattel and Universal Studios. In 1986, he owned a recording and production studio in Los Angeles, where he worked on musical scoring for television series, including: War of the Worlds, Star Trek: The Next Generation, Columbo, Eight Is Enough and Hard Time on Planet Earth. In the late 80s he wrote and performed a series of childrens songs to promote former band member "Tony Barber'" childrens book series titled "Puggle Tales".. From 1990, Thorpe collaborated with Mick Fleetwood (of Fleetwood Mac) and Bekka Bramlett in Fleetwood's side project, a band called The Zoo, which resulted in Shakin' the Cage album and "Shakin' the Cage " single in March 1991. Thorpe had written all ten of the tracks, including two co-written with Bramlett. The Zoo toured Australia during 1991 and while in the country Thorpe was ...
